The Alluring litter are growing up fast and it is only a few short weeks before they go off to their forever homes.
A great day was had at the Spitz Breed Club of NSW today for the Snofyre team.
Great company and fabulous food and even a little dog showing a well.
Firstly Odin (Lapinlumon Velho, Imp Dmk)had his debut on Australian soil and was a very nice 2nd in the Intermediate Dog Class behind the eventual Dog Challenge winner.
Next was Magnus (Gr Ch Theldaroy Green with NV (ai), who was first in the Open Dog class and reserve Dog Challenge winner.
Star of the day though was Niina (Ch Sibermoon Niina) who won the Bitch Challenge and Best of Breed as well as a lovely Sash and Rosette donated by the Finnish Lapphund Club of NSW. Thank you to judge Mr M Derbyshire.
Vale, Riddick, Snofyre Bian Pitch Black 22/3/10-10/10/12
It was with a great deal of shock that I discovered Riddick this afternoon. It was unexpected that he would don his silver harness at such a young age when just that morning he had seemed fine and his exhuberant self.
The vet reported that Riddick had suffered a fatal stroke, not common but certainly not unheard of.
He had always been a naughty boy and very hard to keep contained, luckily it was doubled with a sweet nature. Riddick would escape the yard and run down the main street, stopping at the BBQ chicken shop to see if he could get a free feed from the teenagers. I would find him down the end of the road or a few streets away and as soon as I stopped the car and opened the door he would jump in, very pleased with himself that he had managed to have a long run and his Humum would pick him up for a car ride home.
Run free over the Rainbow Bridge sweet boy.
I am a self confessed Spitzaholic and my passion is the Finnish Lapphund. The most versatile and lovable dog breed I have ever known. In here you will join my dogs and I on the journey of our lives together.
