Tonight was the debut of the Snofyre Alluring litter at the DogsNSW Xmas show. Sassy - Snofyre Alluring Assassin won his class and the girls, Suraiya- Finesse Aim for Success (AI) along with Arya-Snofyre Alluring Arya , Asha- Snofyre Alluring Asha and Izzy- Snofyre Alluring Aphrodite had the crowd under their spell as they entered the ring with Izzy being the eventual Baby Puppy of Breed.

It was the first time the Finnish Lapphund Club of NSW had entered the "Best dressed Gazebo" competition and I am thrilled to say that we won 3rd place!!!
Great night with Lappie members coming from as far away as Qld & NT

The miracles of Science

Today, Cassie Howard of Ausvarg Kennels , and I travelled down to Sydney University  Small Animal Vet Clinic to visit Hippo and Little Man who were diagnosed with Patent Ductus Arteriosis, a life threatening condition where a valve in the heart doesn't close shortly after birth.
Little Man was given only a month to live as his heart was working overtime to keep this happy little puppy alive.
Through the genererous donations of Finnish Lapphund owners worldwide the operation was able to be performed on these two charmers by Dr Niek Beijerink and his team at the University.
The picture above was taken just 1 hour after Hippo, on the right, had come out of surgery.
A news story on this rare operation can be found here  http://inner-west-courier.whereilive.com.au/news/story/paw-pups-now-hearty-after-rare-canine-cardio-at-camperdowns-university-of-sydney/

Yesterday saw the long awaited arrival of Suraiya - Finnesse Aim for Success (AI) ( Multi Ch Fidelis Duuri X Aust Ch Findol Fade to Black).
Many thanks to Kim Thompson of Finnesse Kennels in South Australia for sending Suri to me and Jordie Holtman in the Netherlands for allowing frozen popsicle Usko to travel to Australia.

Suri made her debut in the show ring the next day at the Hills District Kennel & Obedience Club winning Baby Puppy of Breed like an old pro. She is a live wire and has breathed a breath of fresh air into my show team.
