Linda is the current President of the Finnish Lapphund Club of America and was instrumental in getting the breed recognised by the AKC. Her experience with the breed spans some 27 years, she has imported over 30 lappies to America and has attended Specialities in Finland as well as being fortunate enough to witness the lappies perform herding Instinct tests on reindeer in Finland. It is a very different test to that which is done in Australia.
The Finnish Lapphund community was lucky to get Linda to give the lecture when she was in Australia for a short time and it was lovely to see so many Judges and aspiring Judges interested in our breed as well as the breed enthusiasts from Victoria.
NSW was well attended, with 6 lappie owners flying in overnight to hear the lecture. I am sure that all of us in that room brought away something new about the breed.
That night was also an opportunity for me to see my girl Aurora-Rose (Ch Articmal Dynamic Fortune) who has been staying with her breeder, Vanessa of Articmal kennels and has produced a lovely litter of 4 puppies that are currently 7 1/2 weeks old. AR is in great shape considering she has just had a litter and will be coming home for good in June.
Thank you Vanessa for taking such great care of Aurora-Rose
